Quem disse que Mendoza oferece “apenas” ótimos vinhos, ótimos azeites e belas vinícolas? 

Quem disse isso não teve a oportunidade de conhecer a divertida família de Cuiabá e, hoje “moradores paulistanos”, Suleiman, Rose e Lorraine, companheiros de degustação na Pulenta Estate que acabou evoluindo para companheiros de almoço (e mais vinho, claro) e amigos no Facebook.

Durante a visita e a degustação na Pulenta Estate, nos conhecemos e, rapidamente, a conversa fluiu. Aliás, isso não é nada difícil de acontecer estando na presença dessa simpática e falante família.

Eles estavam fazendo uma viagem incrível. Partindo de Santiago do Chile, de carro, cruzaram as cordilheiras em direção à Mendoza. Lá ficariam alguns dias e depois partiriam, também de carro, de volta ao Chile para irem à outras regiões daquele país.

O nosso almoço naquele dia, após a degustação na Pulenta Estate, foi numa vinícola que se orgulha de ser uma das poucas vinícolas genuinamente Argentina, ou seja, sem sócios estrangeiros. A vinícola em questão é a Bodega La Azul – uma pequena vinícola e restaurante onde se degusta um vinho incrível extraído diretamente da barrica, além dos excelentes vinhos “engarrafados” que degustamos no almoço. E, também onde o menu do almoço é simplesmente divino.

Foi um menu em 5 tempos, e em cada momento tivemos um vinho diferente de acompanhamento, finalizando com uma sobremesa espetacular.

Depois dessa “orgia gastronômica”, nossos simpáticos companheiros nos ofereceram uma carona básica de volta ao nosso hotel, com direito a uma parada no Cristo Rey del Valle, um mirante com uma estátua de um Cristo Redentor e uma vista da região de Tupungato que vale a pena.

Suleiman, Rose e Lorraine… agradecemos muitíssimo pela ótima companhia, pelas risadas e pela carona nesse dia.

Who has said Mendoza “only” offers great wines, great olive oils and beautiful wineries?

Well, who said that, unfortunately, haven´t had the chance to meet this nice and funny family from Cuiaba, living in Sao Paulo lately – Suleiman, Rose and Lorraine – wine tasting fellows at Pulenta Estate, then lunch companions (with more wine, of course) and friends on Facebook.

During the visit at Pulenta Estate we´ve met and quickly the conversation started. By the way, it´s not that difficult being with this talkative and sympathetic family.

They were doing an amazing trip. Leaving Santiago in Chile by car, they crossed the Andes to Mendoza. There, they would stay for a couple of days and then would leave, by car again, back to Chile but to explore other regions of that country. 

Our lunch that day, after visiting Pulenta Estate, was in a winery proud of being one of a few pure Argentinian wineries in Mendoza, meaning, without any foreign partner. The winery is Bodega La Azul – a small winery and restaurant where you can taste wine taken directly from the oak barrel, besides excellent bottled wines which we tasted during our lunch. And the menu, by the way, is spectacular.

It was a 5 courses menu, each one with a special wine, ending with a superb dessert.

After this great lunch, our sympathetic fellows offered us a ride back to our hotel. But before, we stopped at Cristo Rey del Valle, an observation deck with the statue of Christ where we can see the beautiful valley of Tupungato.

Suleiman, Rose and Lorraine… thank you so much for being the great companions in this part of the trip, for the good laughs and for the ride.
