A nossa festa de casamento foi muito boa… todos os queridos amigos e familiares lá estavam. A música estava ótima, a comida então… nem se fala… e dava aquela sensação de “não acaba não”, mas é claro que queríamos que acabasse, porque isso significaria o início da nossa lua de mel.

E não é que acabou??? e a nossa lua de mel se iniciou!!!

Fomos para África do Sul e Ilhas Seychelles.

Uma viagem muito especial por vários motivos:
– a principal, claro, o nosso casamento.
– também pelo fato de eu estar estreando um novo continente – África.
– por ter a chance de ver com meus próprios olhos aquela cor de mar típica de revista de turismo e confirmar que aquela cor existe de verdade.
– fazer um safari… entre muitos outros.

A nossa primeira parada foi Cape Town, mas antes de chegar lá passamos pelo aeroporto de Johannesburg, que é o aeroporto hub para a África do Sul. O tempo de vôo entre as duas cidades é de aproximadamente 2 horas.

Alguns comentários rápidos sobre esse aeroporto.
– a chegada, digo o desembarque e reembarque para Cape Town foi meio confuso. Sem muitas placas informativas, o passageiro fica à mercê dos carregadores de malas que se prestam a conduzi-lo até o local do próximo check-in, porém por um “módica” quantia (a qual se trata de uma “caixinha”, mas eles estabelecem o valor de tal e reclamam se a oferta for abaixo do esperado).
– portanto, a dica é ou vai por conta ou antes de receber qualquer ajuda já acerte o valor para evitar aborrecimentos.

Chegamos em Cape Town e fomos ao Kensington Place , um hotel-boutique fantástico.

Bem localizado em um bairro residencial, tranquilo e seguro, mas com facilidades nas adjacências, como: loja de conveniência (sempre bom ter uma por perto), restaurantes, bares, além da belíssima vista da Table Mountain (que aliás se vê de qualquer lugar da 
cidade).

Vista do nosso quarto

Chegamos quase no fim da tarde e, além de conhecer a vizinhança, o hotel e, para não corrermos o risco de céu nublado no dia seguinte, já nos deslocamos para visitar a Table Mountain, uma vez que o céu estava azul, azul, azul! (o próximo post será exclusivo sobre Table Mountain). E fechamos esse dia com um jantar no Manna Epicure, ótimo restaurante, bem próximo ao hotel. 

Decoração discreta, sóbria, mas com um cardápio delicioso e uma ótima carta de vinhos.

Aliás, gostaria de ressaltar que fomos a esse restaurante por indicação do próprio hotel, na verdade mais que indicação, pois a nossa reserva já estava feita antes da nossa chegada…. Mimos de Honeymoon!!!

E, apenas por curiosidade, o nosso menu foi:
– Epicure Burguer
– Zucchini
– e o vinho False Bay

Our wedding party was great… all of our dearest friends and relatives were there. Music was great, not to mention the food… and we were with the feeling of “don´t come to an end”, but of course we wanted it ended as it meant our honeymoon was starting.

And it was over!!! and our honeymoon started!!!

We went to South Africa and Seychelles Island.

A very special trip for many reasons:

– the main one, of course, our wedding.
– also because I was putting my foot on African continent for the first time.
– for having the opportunity to see with my own eyes that sea colour we see in Trip magazines confirming it does exist.
– to be in a safari… among others.

Our first stop was in Cape Town, but to get there we went through Johannesburg airport, which is the hub to all South Africa. The flight time between the two cities is approximately 2 hours.

Some quick comments on this airport:

– arrival, I mean disembark and embark to Cape Town was a little bit confused. No proper indication signs. The passenger is on the hands of porters who help you to reach the place where you have to check in for a “humble” tip (they do not accept the amount you give them, they request the amount although there is no fixed price for this service).
– so, my advice is or try to reach check-in desk by yourself or negotiate the tip with the porters before receiving their support in order to avoid annoyance. 

We arrived in Cape Town and reached Kensington Place , an amazing boutique hotel.

Well located in a residential area, calm and safe, with convenience store (it´s always good to have one around, isn´t it?), restaurants, bars and an amazing view of the Table Mountain (which can be seen wherever you are in the city).

We arrived in the middle of the afternoon, and besides walking around the neighbourhood, getting acquainted with the hotel, we decided to go to Table Mountain as the sky was blue, blue, blue (next post will be exclusive about Table Mountain). And we closed the day having dinner at Manna Epicure, great restaurant close to the hotel.

Discrete decoration, sober, but we a delicious menu and a great variety of wine.

By the way, I would like to emphasise that we went to this restaurant not only because it was an indication from the concierge of the hotel, but mainly because it was already reserved for us before we arrived in the hotel…. “gifts of honeymoon” !!! 

And just for curiosity, our menu was:
– Epicure Burger
– Zucchini
– and False Bay wine.
