Três foram as igrejas que visitei – Santo Alexandre, a Catedral da Sé e a igreja de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, porém, a mais interessante de todas, a de Santo Alexandre, não podia ser fotografada.
Essa igreja chamou a atenção pelo seu aspecto mais intimista, soturno e uma decoração sóbria. Construída no século XVII, aqui se encontra o museu de Arte Sacra de Belém.
Já Igreja da Sé, marca um contraste entre a simplicidade exterior e o seus detalhes interiores. Ela é a sede do Arcebispado de Belém e também chamada de catedral Metroplitana de Belém.
A primeira capela que deu origem à igreja da Sé, data de 1716 e a atual teve início em 1748 e é considerada a primeira igreja de Belém.
E, por fim, a Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré. Sua construção teve início em 1909 e foi inspirada na basílica de São Paulo (Roma). Em 1923, recebeu de Roma o título de Basílica.
Um fato interessante sobre a Basílica de Nazaré é que ela é a igreja com o conjunto de sinos mais antigo e completo do Brasil, sendo possível executar cantos sacros completos através deles (Site Oficial da Basilica).

I´ve visited three churches in Belem – Saint Alexander, Metropolitan Cathedral and Our Lady of Nazareth, however the most intereting one, Saint Alexander, it was not allowed to take pictures of.
This church called my attention due to its intimate aspect with dark decoration.
This church was built in 17th century and here is the Museum of Sacred Art of Belem.
Metropolitan Cathedral, on the other side, presents a contrast between its plain outside architecture and its inside decoration. This is the Archbishopric in Belem.
The chapel which originated the Metropolitan Cathedral, was built in 1716. The present one in 1748 and its consider the oldest church in Belem.
And the last one was The Church of Our Lady of Nazareth. Its construction begun in 1909, inspired by Basilica of Saint Paul in Rome. In 1923, it received the title of Basilica.
An interesting fact about this church. It has the oldest and the most complete set of bells in Brazil, enabling to play some important sacred chants.
