O segundo dia da nossa viagem foi um dia diferenciado. Ficamos na companhia, mais que agradável, de um casal de amigos que mora em Santiago e que nos levaram a conhecer alguns pontos bem interessantes da cidade, como:
– o bairro Bernachea
– o morro Manquehuito
Além, é claro de uma ótima tarde de conversas, risadas e algumas partidas de jogos de tabuleiro.
Nesse dia, tivemos um ótimo jantar no restaurante Rosso Italiano, no shopping Parque Arauco.
O terceiro dia guardava o início da “rota do vinho” com a nossa visita à primeira vinícola – a Cousiño Macul.
Uma vinícola pequena, mas extremamente agradável e com uma história interessante. Localizada em Santiago, com acesso por metrô (estação Quilín), e uma caminhada da estação até a vinícola. Porém, aqui vai uma dica importante. Se o sol estiver intenso, como estava no dia da nossa visita, embora a distância seja de “apenas” 2,4 quilômetros, não se aventure a ir caminhando até lá. Tome um táxi e em 5 minutos, e sem estar esgotado depois de 40 minutos de caminhada embaixo de um sol escaldante, você estará desfrutando de belos vinhos.
A arquitetura é bem agradável e o ambiente propício para sentar, relaxar e apreciar uma taça de vinho, obviamente. O tour passa pelas câmaras dos barris, o armazém de garrafas antigas… bem antigas diga-se de passagem, uma pequena sala com maquinários antigos e algumas placas de “exportação” na parede que complementam bem a decoração.
Ao final do tour, a tão esperada degustação. Optamos pelo Regular Tour, com a degustação de três vinhos – um rosé, um reserva e um gran reserva. Vale dizer que aqui já nos deparamos com “as gratas surpresas” do mundo dos vinhos. Com dois destaques:
– esse Rosé de um sabor incrível, extremamente refrescante e caiu como uma luva para aquele dia quente, ainda mais depois da nossa caminhada.
– e um Reserva Don Luís, simplesmente impressionante.
O retorno da vinícola foi feita da maneira correta. Pegamos uma van que fica na própria vinícola e, em 5 suaves minutos lá estávamos de volta à estação de metrô. Chega da caminhada ao “sol do Cairo”.
Esse dia terminou da maneira mais bela possível. Fomos ao Costanera Center, considerado o maior edifício da América Latina e, do alto deste prédio pudemos observar um incrível por do sol na capital Chilena (aliás, fica a dica… se for ao Costanera Center, vá próximo ao horário do por do sol…encantamento garantido!).
E, após esse espetáculo da natureza, um passeio pelo shopping Costanera Mall e um jantar no restaurante Farina, que surpreendeu pelo tempero e foi acompanhado por um vinho, digamos, “básico”, mas que caiu perfeitamente bem – Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon.

The second day of our trip was a special one. We spent the whole day with some friends who live in Santiago and took us to visit some interesting places such as:
– Bernachea district
– Manquehuito hill
And a great afternoon full of nice conversation, lots of laughs and some board game play.
At night we had a dinner at Rosso Italiano restaurant at shopping Parque Arauco.
The third day was the beginning of our “wine route” with our visit to the first winery – a Cousiño Macul.
A small but extremely pleasant winery with a interesting history. Located in Santiago, easily reached by underground (Quilín station) and a walk from the station to the winery. Here, by the way, one important hint. If the sun is intense, as it was on the day of our visit, although the distance is “only” 2.4 Kilometres, do not dare to reach the winery by walking. Take a cab and in 5 minutes, without being exhausted after almost 40 minutes walking under a scorching sun, you will have your great wine tasting.
The architecture of this place is beautiful and pleasant suitable to sit down, relax and enjoy a glass of wine, of course. The tour goes through the chambers of the barrels, the old bottles warehouse… very old bottles by the way, a small room of old machines and some “export” plates on the wall completing the decoration.
At the end of the tour, the expected degustation. We chose the Regular Tour with three wines degustation – rosé, reserve and gran reserve. It´s worth saying that we came across “great surprises” from the world of wine. Two highlights:
– rosé with spectacular taste, extremely refreshing which “fit like a glove” on the that hot day, even more after that walking.
– reserve Don Luis, simply great.
The way back from the winery was done in the right way, which means, we got a van from the winery and, in 5 minutes there we were at the station. No more walking under the “Cairo sun”.
This day finished the most possible beautiful way. We visited Costanera Center considered the highest building in Latin America and, from the top of it, we could see an amazing sunset in Chile capital city (by the way, another hint… if you decide to visit Costanera Center, go close to the time of sunset).
And after this spectacle of nature, we visited Costanera Mall and we had our dinner at Farina restaurant, where we tasted nice seasoning food with a “basic” wine, I may say, but it was perfect – Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon.
