O segundo dia começou cedo, bem cedo! / The second started early, pretty early!

O segundo dia no Jalapão começou bem cedo.

The second day in Jalapao started pretty early! In fact, it started before the day starts itself, I may say. At 4 am we woke up to walk on a well warned trail to reach the top of the Serra do Espírito Santo and see the sunrising.

Only 8 members among 20 people woke up in the mood to this walk. I was among them and decided to face 600 metres up to the top plus 3 km until reach the right place to admire the view of the dunes (see the first post).

The steep and rocky climb to the top requested us some “strategic stops” along the way to recover the energy, and as usual, when we reached there it really worthwhile the effort.

After the spectacle of colours made by the Sun, and after having fed ourselves in a great breakfast, there we went to the other adventures of the day: Fervedouro, Mumbuca Comunity and the Waterfall of the Ants.

Fervedouro is a great surprise. It´s a small natural swimming pool from headwaters. In its bottom a refined white sand and suddenly… no bottom anymore, however no one drowns even if one can´t swim. The strong pressure of the water from water table makes us float. It´s simply wonderful.

Keeping us in the water we had the opportunity to swim in the river of the Waterfall of  the Ants, another amazing place withe crystal waters.

Mumbuca comunity will be posted later.
